Wood chips have become for wine producers and olive-growers an interesting product which can yield an alternative income for firms: from the wood of agricultural waste resulting from pruning vines and olive trees, calibrated chips and small chips may be obtained, of optimal size to replace pits (husks), a product that is increasingly required to power heating boilers, well-paid and most recently used, as well as by the paper and chipboard industry, also as fuel for plants producing renewable energy from biomass. For this reason, many firms belonging to this sector choose to use one of the machines of the Chipper Energy range exactly to produce quality chips.Although this chipping machine or chipper has been designed for the forestry sector, it is now used daily also by wine producers and olive-growers. The 3 sizes of the range which might be interesting for the wine producing and olive growing sector are 20, 30 and 40, machines which can easily contribute to integrating the firm’s income. In fact, the wine producer is able to create an additional income with equipment that is not overtly expensive, with no need for transfers or acquire special technical expertise. The interesting aspect is that wine producers and olive-growers are able to work as contractors for third parties, for instance in poplar plantations, for Municipalities (by proposing to Municipalities that centralise waste collection to make use of their equipment) or in the private sector, by pointing to an alternative disposal method for garden centres and public garden maintenance operators.
The chips obtained from the vine or olive wood is perfectly calibrated and can be produced in the desired size. It can be used directly in chip boilers as well as in pellet production.
